
LARRY HAMRIC grew up in Dallas, Texas and is a lifelong Presbyterian. He received undergraduate and law degrees from Vanderbilt University and worked there for several years in the undergraduate admissions office. He served on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve in the early 1970s. Larry practiced law in Virginia, Texas, and Louisiana for almost 40 years before retiring in 2017. In 2003, he received a Master of Divinity degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. Larry has served on committees and commissions of the Presbytery of South Louisiana, and has been on the Presbytery’s Pulpit Supply List. He has preached and conducted worship services in a number of churches in the Presbytery over the years. Larry has been a member of SCAPC since 2004, and has served multiple times on the Session, taught adult Sunday school, and was Parish Associate on the church staff in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Larry is married to Ann Roy, who is a retired attorney. Larry’s son (Andrew), daughter-in-law and two grandsons live in San Diego, and his daughter (Caroline) and son-in-law live in Arlington, Virginia. Larry has served on the board of directors of Raintree Children & Family Services for over ten years, and enjoys reading and travel.
